OfflineI created a backup routine for one of my sites. This site is hosted on GoDaddy. I have excluded the largest directories in my uploads folder but I can still not do a full backup.
"Bad HTTP response (500 Internal Server Error). You can try again later or click here for more tips."
If I cannot backup I see no reason to use ManageWP. I contacted GoDaddy but not getting any help there. I hope you can help me.

OfflineI will go over each thing step by step but let me first say it would have been nice if you had included the link in this post so readers of this thread don't have to go digging for it. Also that there is no easy to find link from the dashboard to the forum at the top of the page. Just suggestions.
I read the document about failed backups.
- This site uses a hosting account that has unlimited space. So space should not be an issue.
- I have cleaned up my site to remove as many unused files as possible, excluded the directories that include large files.
- Yes, I can and did backup the database.
- The grammar used about using No Compression is confusing to English speakers but I tried it with the box checked and unchecked. No luck there.
- I edited my .htaccess file in the root of my site with the two strings recommended. "php_value max_execution_time 600" and "php_value memory_limit 128M". I put them inside the loop and outside the loop with no success. So I removed them.
- I called my hosting company but they said they couldn't help me and told me to Google the topic of "Increase the PHP execution time"
- I ran a recursive script to reset the permissions in my site so that all files are 644 and all folders are 755. BTW, the link on your support page that goes to a "write permissions guide" leads me to a 404 page.
What now? If you would like to login to my account to have a look please email me and I'll create an admin login for you and send it. Thank you.

I continue to have the SAME problem on a different hosting provider and my concerns with ManageWP on large database files.
I too agree the native support pages from ManageWP are confusing and I have an IT technical support background.
This is the excerpt from support:
"Hello,
This is Rados from ManageWP support team.
This problem could occur if your site backup file is big and connection between your source site and destination site timeouts while backup file is being downloaded from source site to destination site.
You could try increasing your memory limit and execution time.
One of the problems could also be that you don't have access to MySQL dump and zip/unzip command on your server.
You could ask your hosting to check those things and also to increase memory limit and execution time for you."
I too tried:
* To edit my .htaccess file in the root of my site with the two strings recommended. "php_value max_execution_time 600" and "php_value memory_limit 128M".
* Contacted my hosting company but they couldn't help

OfflineHi,
We have contacted you via email.
Problem that user pcgs had was connected with the field where you enter which folders should be excluded, for example: wp-content/cache,wp-content/w3tc-cache,wp-content/uploads/pictures,
That last , (comma) was causing the issue, removing that comma resolved the problem.
