OfflineI used the cloning feature with great success the week manage wp went from free to paid (I forget the exact date) and I loved it and had no problems. Today my brother was trying to clone some sites and he was having issues and I figured it was just him doing something wrong but when I went in there and tried cloning I'm getting some unwanted redirects.
To make things possibly a little easier :
site1= the master/template site that was being cloned
site2= the site it was being cloned to
So when I tried to clone site 1 to site 2, at first everything looked normal except I noticed the cloning process took much longer then it use to in that it use to be all of 5 seconds and now it was more like 30. Then I went to site 2 and it's url was showing with site 1s content (like it was suppose to so far so good) then I tried logging into admin panel by going to site2/wp-login.php and it showed up like it was suppose to but then I put in my username and password and it successfully logged in, but it logged into site 1 admin panel site1/wp-admin/. So I'm unsure why this is happening, I'm guessing this is some kind of redirect. so then out of curiosity I wanted to see what would happen if I put in site2/wp-admin/ and it takes me to http://site1/wp-login.php?redi…..8;reauth=1 which is the wp-login for site 1. Also all the links on site 2 take me to the relevant page on site 1. for example clicking the privacy policy on page site 2 takes me to site 1 privacy policy page (this may be normal until you update permalinks or whatever I don't really remember)
So long story short I am in what appears to be a web of redirects that prevent me from accessing the admin area, also if I access the admin area from manage wp it opens up the admin page but then takes me to what I'm guessing is site 1 wp-login, luckily they are all either templates or very small micro niche sites so I am just going to start them from scratch which hopefully won't be too big of a deal but I'm curious what the cause of this is because I can't continue to use the site cloning feature until I find out what is causing the redirects and or how to get rid of them. Did managewp make a change to their cloning feature between when it came out and now that is causing this or is it something my brother and I did?
any light anyone can shed on what is causing the redirects would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

OfflineHi,
You could check your wp-config.php file on your cloned site, if there is a define(SITE_URL, "http://www.yourwebsite.url"); try removing this line and see if that helps.
There could be a chance that you have hardcoded redirects in your themes also, there is no global solution for this, that is the reason we have to check every case separately.
