How to add plugin to sites that don't have it installed

Hi,

I just realized that some of my blogs have this plugin while others don't.

How can I tell Manage WP to ONLY install this plugin to the blogs that need it?

Right now when I clicked on my group (that includes all my sites), it listed 2 columns with checkboxes. One on the left I have on idea what that's for, the one of the right has the name of the plugin at the top which I added to my fav. (never done that b4). I guess that column is asking me if I want to deactivate it which of course I don't want to do.

I'm finding that it's hard for me to figure out how to do things in the dashboard. It's not intuitive enough for me.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi,

To install the plugin or theme on specific website:

While in ManageWP dashboard, in left navigation bar click on -Plugins&Themes-.

When new screen opens up, you will see – Manage- and – Install – option, click on Install.
New screen will open with options for installation.

Select the websites where you wish to install plugin or theme.
Under the website list you can choose do you want to install plugin or theme.
Check plugin.
You also have an option to activate the plugin/theme after upload, overwrite existing plugin/theme.

After that, choose the upload location for the plugin and that's it.

Hi,

Ok, so to be clear, the system won't just tell me which blogs don't have the plugin I want added? I have to go thru my entire list myself one by one & figure out which ones do & which ones don't?

I was hoping the system would know so I don't have to spend all that time figuring out which sites already have the plugin.

Thanks

Michelle

From my (limited) experience if the plug-in is already installed, it will tell you after you try to install it again. So you could select the whole group and the plug in won't re-install on the sites that already have it.

Hi,

Kerri gave a nice suggestion how to check which websites have plugin already installed.

When you choose all websites and try to install the plugin, in case plugin already exists on website you should get this text in case of Akismet plugin:

akismet.2.5.5.zip was not installed.(Folder exists: /home/site/public_html/yoursite/wp-content/plugins/akismet/)
