General

Why the different name? Why not just update your current ManageWP version?

We’ve rebuilt ManageWP from the ground up. With five years of experience (the first line of ManageWP code was written back in 2010), an excellent team and new technology running in the background (like Symfony, AngularJS and MongoDB), we are able to give you a much better product that your business needs.

How much does Orion cost?

It’s a hotly debated topic! The initial release did not change the pricing model (Orion is given to all Trial, Standard, Professional and Business users, with no extra charge).

At some point in time we plan on introducing a new plan and a way to mix and match different plans on a single account, so you could optimize your costs.

How can I try Orion?

If you are on a premium ManageWP plan, an Orion account was created automatically for you on October 26th. You can see a button in the top right corner of your ManageWP dashboard that will take you to Orion.

If you’re not currently using ManageWP, sign up for the ManageWP 14-day Trial, and you’ll automatically get the Orion account as well.

Can I manage my website in ManageWP and in Orion at the same time?

Yes. Starting from October 26th, your ManageWP websites have been mirrored into Orion and you could use either of them, or both – the choice is yours.

Do you support Multisite instalations ?

All of our tools, except the Backup and Clone tool, will fully support multisite installations. Backups and cloning of multisite installations were not planned architecturally at the beginning, and require a complete redesign of the tools in order for them to work.

How do I remove a website from Orion ?

To remove a website from Orion, you would have to go to your ManageWP 1 dashboard and remove the website from there. Website will then be removed from Orion as well.

Dashboard

Where is xyz tool ?

All the tools that are missing in Orion compared to ManageWP 1 are currently in the making. You can check our roadmap to see what is coming.

What does lock icon mean near my website URL ?

Lock icon is a visual notification that your website is using HTTPS protocol.

I see that my websites have different color “lamp” icons ?

The colors show the status of your website:

Green – everything is up-to date
Yellow – updates are available
Red – website is disconnected

I have made changes to my website but the thumbnail didn’t update ?

Thumbnails are updated once per day.

Why are there no numbers shown in Analytics ?

Our analytics tool just shows the trend of visits. For that reason, we didn’t add any numbers.

For a more comprehensive info, you can use Google Analytics and just connect your account with our dashboard in Settings screen.

Backup

Where can I set the number of daily backups ?

You can do that on the single website backup screen under “Backup Settings”.

How can I turn on backups on all of my websites ?

In the main dashboard in the backups widget, click on “Backups not enabled” and you will see the “Turn on All” button.

I have backups set on ManageWP 1 and/or have done updates on ManageWP 1, but they are not showning in Orion ?

ManageWP 1 and Orion are two separate dashboards, we are mirroring your websites and information about available updates and cleanups.

For updates to be shown in Client Report, you would have to do them directly in Orion. Backups are also not connected and you will have to set new backups in Orion.

I don’t see any external backup destinations in Orion ?

At the moment Orion backups are saved on our private AmazonS3 server. External backup destinations will be added at the later date.

I don’t see the option to exclude/include files on backups?

This is next on our list for backup improvement.

For how long are backups being saved ?

In theory, backups can be saved indefinitely (for as long as the website stays connected to the dashboard), so you could use a backup from 2 years ago as a restore point.

The save period might be changed once we go fully live with Orion.

Client Report

Will you implement Client Report localization ?

It is on our improvement list for Client report. We are planing to implement support for a number of major languages.

Will you add additional customization to Client Report ?

Once we add all of the missing tools, we will definitely work on improving the Client Report according to your suggestions and feedback.

Miscellaneous

Why do I see that optimization is needed in ManageWP 1 and not in Orion ?

Orion has a minimum of 100kb size limit. Once your database overhead reaches 100kb, it will be shown.

What are Orion IPs so I can whitelist them?
