ManageWP Update: Global management of plugins, themes and users, Backup status widget and more

What a lovely day at the ManageWP office in Belgrade to present our newest update (ManageWP Worker 3.9.9), that includes couple of new features which we are sure you are going to love.

Global management of plugins, themes and users

ManageWP has complete support for managing plugins and themes across all sites now.

For example you can now get a view of all plugins installed on your sites and activate, deactivate or delete them in bulk.

Managing plugins and themes just got much easier

You can also quickly install or add them to favorites. And everything is available for themes too.

Changing your admin password on all sites is now possible in just a few seconds thanks to ManageWP. And we didn’t stop there, you are also able to change the user role or add/remove the user on all your sites.

All your users in one place

Overwrite plugins and themes during installation

Frequently asked for, the option to overwrite existing plugins and themes while installing to multiple websites is finally here. This will come very useful for those of you who use premium plugins and themes.

Click the option to overwrite plugins and themes during installation

Backup status widget

Introducing new widget to the ManageWP dashboard, backup status gives you the status of all your backup tasks at glance. Green, yellow and red lights inform you if the backups went well, did not run yet or have failed.

Handy backup status widget

Faster loading of admin for your sites

Opening your website admin from ManageWP is one of the most frequently used features of ManageWP. It just got faster, saving you even more time when opening multiple websites.

Premium plugins and themes updates API

For all developers out there, ManageWP now supports bulk premium plugin and theme updates through a very simple API, which is very easy to integrate into existing products. The very first to support this API are dev4press.com premium plugins and themes, and we thank them for their support.

If you want to take advantage of ManageWP updates in your premium addons, go to ManageWP API page and download our dead-easy-to-integrate example.

Coming next

As usual we have a bunch of new features coming up, like ability to upload plugins and themes to favorites, uptime monitoring and security module. Stay tuned.

Plugins are not just activated or deactivated they can also be activated but not in active service.
As better plugins evolve and others with similar functionality decline there comes a time where the lesser needs to be replaced by its better. To ensure that no threads belonging to the old are left, we need a feature which shows whether an active plugin is actually being called and, ideally the post/pages where those calls are being made.

I’m in love with this tool! This is increadible to manage a bunch of blogs/sites. This will worth the 10$/m big time :-)

btw can you do a blog post about the security feature and what you have done on your side to help us feel secure… as the plugin ManageWP worker seems to have access to pretty much anything.

I already love this and I’ve only been in it 10 minutes. It doesn’t update my Genesis Themes, but with your API, I’m sure it will soon. Thanks.

This plugin is an absolute God’s send for me. You all are genius. I am just starting out and realize just how overwhelming managing multiple sites can become until now. ManageWP is priceless!

There is one feature I would like to see that I see you all being in a good position to provide. That would be some sort of a compatability plugin that would prevent conflicts before installing installing conflicting plugins. Even an analysis of installed plugins to eliminate overkill or duplicate functions and report on which plugins command the most PHP memory to prevent memory errors!

I’m not a coder by any means, but it seems that this plugin with cooperation of users would return back a good amount of information that would benefit the group as a whole. I would love to be able to choose from a list of plugin and theme packages designed and tested for specific site purposes without the time consuming testing.

Otherwise, praises to you all and long life to this project.

Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it.

The kind of testing is not possible due to sheer amount of plugins out there, but what we will introduce is some kind of shared plugin ratings so ManageWP users can vote up / down the plugins they use the most.

What about ability to roll-back a plugin update, possible?

Wow awesome update! The bulk plugin management feature, and the API for updates were two things I saw lacking before, and now they are here. This will save me a TON of time. Thanks.
