Troubleshooting > Manage > After updating a plugin/theme, my website crashed. What do I do?

After updating a plugin/theme, my website crashed. What do I do?

First thing you need to do:

Connect to your website FTP and rename the folder of the plugin/theme you just updated.

It should be located inside your wp-content/plugins (wp-content/themes) folder.

If the issue is with the plugin/theme you have updated, this will deactivate that plugin/theme after which you should be able to log into your website’s wp-admin area.

If you don’t know which plugin/theme caused your website to crash, you can rename your whole plugins (themes) folder.
