Q. I can’t clone to a new site. What do I do? My hosting provider is Rackspace.

The problem with Rackspace is that they have a setting that pauses the script after 30 seconds no matter what execution time is set on your site. The main problem here is the “30 second load balancer timeout”.

In order to avoid this, you can try the following:

1) Use the alternate FTP address provided by Rackspace (you will have to contact them directly)

2) Because, the home for Rackspace FTP connections is the user’s root folder, you need to lead with a “/” followed by the website address and then /web/content/ tree

3) And the most important thing – because the /content folder can have permissions set to 750, it can prevent the database from transferring. Try changing permissions to 777 and select “Try 777”
