In a recent presentation called “State of the Word”, WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg has pointed out some interesting facts that we also feel important for the future of ManageWP.
- Out of 100 new domains in US, 22 of them run WordPress – such is the spread of the platform.
- Currently, 14.7% of all websites in the world run WordPress
- 6,800 WP users that took the survey manage 170,000 websites, or an average of 25 websites per user. We only need to get them to try ManageWP.
- One of the most annoying things for users is finding the best plugins. This is something we are working on ManageWP and are finding ways to make this job much easier.
As far as ManageWP goes, we are working hard to bring the next round of features.
Among these, the most sought after is scheduled backups to Amazon S3 and Dropbox which is coming with the next update.
We have also improved the notes system so you can organize your sites in a better way and fixed a whole bunch of problems, most of them related to cloning websites.
Also we are approaching the moment of official launch, something we are very excited about.
There have been a lot of questions on what will the pricing be, and we can say that for the basic set of features (that most of users use ManageWP for) the price will be as low as $1 USD per website, yearly. Also ManageWP will remain free for up to 5 blogs.
As always, please feel free to send us your feedback directly or share it with others in the forums.

I love ManageWP – it saves me loads of time. $1 per site per year sounds very reasonable to me also. This is not the sort of cost one can readily pass onto a client as the main advantage is to me, the webmaster, so this price hits the spot with me. I have 22 sites on ManageWP at this point. One or two updates don’t go through but I can access that site from the dashboard – so it is a quick and easy fix. I also like being about to exclude certain plugins – the ones that are going to be a pain, like BuddyPress. Keep up the good work!

Looking at other online services an average cost of $1 per website per annum seems very reasonable with breakpoints perhaps at 30, 100, 300 sites. A monthly, or discounted annual payment options.

I’m sold already – used it for weeks – Just now rolled out a plugin to the panel for the first time – WOW how easy! I’m ready to pay…

LOVE this tool so far. Exactly what I’ve been searching for. I’ve already added 17 of our 100 or so WP sites. Price of $1 per site per year sounds great.

I’d like to suggest an affiliate program as well. I think a lot of us would do very well promoting your services to our network of connections, and obviously that would help Manage WP get off to a great start….!

Agreed! I would love to promote your services as an affiliate. This is a time-saving product that I believe everyone using multiple wordpress installations should be aware of.

If that remains true, I’ll promote your tool everywhere on earth. I really like the job you’ve done with ManageWP.
