New ManageWP branding, client control, and client support features; ManageWP Worker release 3.9.26

Managing websites on behalf of clients is a complex, time consuming, and essential task that comes with lot of responsibility. But doing it remotely with ManageWP to automate these tasks saves you time and provides you with additional layer of security. Our latest update makes this simpler and gives you more control than ever before.

With our latest ManageWP branding feature update, you have additional options to customize the messages that your clients see; restrict, edit, and delete plugins and themes; and create a more secure place for your clients to work in. Additionally, if your clients need any support from you directly, we have new functionality that makes this possible as well.

Read on to get all the details on these new features.

New placement in ManageWP admin tools section!

Branding options, now as a fully customizable feature, has been moved from the settings page to its own dedicated page in Tools section for easier access and control.

Customize the management message with your own company branding!

dashboardmessage

In addition to the the existing option to customize the Worker plugin name and author info in the plugins page, now you have an option to customize the management information in the main overview screen. You can use this option to inform your client that their websites are managed by your company, or anything else that you find important to bring to your clients’ attention.

Create a secure place for your clients to work in!

disablechanges

You can now disable all plugin and theme changes for your client website by turning on the disable option in your branding page. Use this as a way to prevent unwanted changes by users who are logging in directly to their WordPress dashboard, and restrict these actions only to ManageWP and your control.

Offer support to your clients!

Finally if there’s anything that your clients need to ask of you, or if your clients need any kind of assistance, we’ve created an option for you to embed a simple and flexible contact form to keep your clients in contact with you.

Other improvements

Apart from branding feature improvement and lot of back-end technical improvements, we’ve worked a lot on improving other things as well. Now you can:

We hope you enjoy these new features

Has the per client feature for branding options been enabled? I’d ideally like a way determine which sites can do which levels (themes, plugins, WP major update).

I really like the option to disable theme / plugin installation for my clients. But as ivycat said, I need to do that on a per client base. Do you have an idea when you are going to introduce this feature?

some nice new features guys, especially the client support.

I think we hit the reply depth limit so I’m answering without having hit reply, so I think it will be a new comment…

If I come up with more I will certainly let you know.

For the custom login, I use White Label Branding but it’s pretty ridiculous. We only use about 10% of its features… πŸ™‚ One thing I find very important is the ability to import/export settings, so if you had a way to save login customizations and apply them to multiple sites it would be SO FANTASTIC.

Also I haven’t used this Retina WP Branding, but I like the look of the screenshots. I just don’t think it’s as important as this point as giving our clientele a branded impact when they go to login or when we demo the website. Also inside the WP Admin I like to have our logo in the footer and elsewhere if possible.

    Hope that helps! Thank you!

Wow, Vladimir, these are some great updates and I certainly appreciate them.

    A few clarification questions:

    1. Can both the Dashboard Message and Support page for Non-Admin Users input fields take HTML too? Seems like it from the examples, but it’s not clear what tags.

    2. I really like the disable plugins checkbox, but would prefer that you split the two function:

a: Disabling Plugin Updates & Installation, and
b: Disabling Plugin & Theme editors

Both are very valuable, but serve slightly different purposes. On some sites, we need the client to be able to update plugins and themes, but don’t want the editors active. We usually shut this off manually, but it would be cool to do it directly from ManageWP.

    Is that possible?

    3. Is it also possible to have the disable plugins checkbox(es) on a per-site basis? We really have different classes of clients and some need plugin add/update capabilities, but others never touch it.

    4. Would be cool if the Support Page for non-Admin users could be tailored by group.

    Thanks again for the updates!

      Thanks!

      1) Yes they can accept HTML (ie. links etc)

      2) Sure makes sense, we will push this for the next update

      3) Complicates things, but does make sense

      4) Next update then πŸ™‚

        Awesome. You guys rock!

Thanks – I look forward to the next update.

IvyCat you nailed those revision requests, LOL… I think they all made sense for sure. I’m just amazingly excited to have this set of geniuses building a fantastic management layer on top of WordPress for us! Vlad I think IvyCat should be on your mastermind team too! πŸ™‚

I’m LOVING the direction you’re going with branding! Keep building that out for sure as well, if you can add a Login Customization feature next that would be FANTASTIC. I know this doesn’t even look good (I need to get my designer working on it), but I really love having a custom login for our clients… I think adding a welcome message & a logo are most important, followed by changing the color scheme, & or background image then an editable region below, left or right of the login box…

          Keep up the AMAZING WORK!

I love the website clone/move tool, I use ManageWP to backup to DropBox & Amazon (AND we use SiteAutoBackup, so we feel pretty bulletproof), then obviously the updates, spam comment removal, revision history and other bulk tools are just AMAZING to have when you have 150 sites to manage.

            Hi Charles

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. It seems we nailed this direction and we would like to develop more tools for client management. Feel free to submit these ideas to us.

Is there a custom login plugin that you are loving? We would like to explore this more, it’s a great idea.

I resubmitted this here – since it’s going into moderation I figure you could decide which would be a better spot and/or edit it πŸ™‚
